Our mission

Quintessence's mission is to automate software migration - so that organisations can continue to use the intellectual capital embodied in the software applications that run their businesses. All software applications have a life cycle, and at some stage reach their 'legacy' stage - in which the system is limited by its software platform, unable to adapt to the organisation's evolving needs. However such systems are often essential to the organisation's information infrastructure.

Such a legacy application may be re-written in a new software environment - but re-written systems often throw organisations into administrative chaos and fail to satisfy users' needs. Another approach is to migrate the software so that the new application reproduces the original appearance and function - but in a new environment which opens up a wealth of opportunities for development improvement.

However this kind of software migration is a long and expensive task, often occupying enormous resources over long periods, with no guarantee of a successful conclusion. Hence the Quintessence Systems approach: automated software migration, capable of migrating entire complex applications containing hundreds of screens and thousands of lines of embedded code in a matter of seconds - reliably and accurately.

The migrated sytem then provides a secure, stable base for subsequent enhancement and extension.
